John Barrett

Professor of Practice and Director, Natural Resource Use & Management Clinic

John Barrett is a Professor of Practice and Director of the Natural Resource Use and Management Clinic.  He received his JD from Vermont Law School, MA in American Indian Studies from the University of Arizona, BA from Lewis and Clark College, and joined the Arizona bar in 2006.   He served as a law clerk for the Hon. Peter Eckerstrom at the Arizona Court of Appeals and his work in private practice focused on commercial litigation, real estate, and matters related to natural resources.  John stepped away from legal practice for several years when he dedicated his time to non-profit work in Illinois and Arizona, including five years as the Land Protection Director of the Arizona Land and Water Trust where he facilitated the protection of over 16,000 acres of rangeland throughout the state.
