College of Law Student Financial Hardship Fund

Sept. 10, 2020

To Arizona Law Employees, including Fall Professors of Practice:

A College of Law Student Financial Hardship Fund was established by the Class of 2020 as their Class Gift. We have received initial funding from AccessLex to support law students directly.

An application has been developed to share with College of Law students who are experiencing financial hardship, particularly with regard to their technology access for classes and their studies.

I am sharing this with each of you so you can have it on hand to share with students that you may encounter that are having technology challenges. They can apply for financial support through the fund to help solve their problems.

I understand that we have been able to meet the needs of students in other ways over these past months through loaning technology devices (hotspots, etc). We are moving away from that practice going forward and will instead provide funds for students to solve their problems as they see best.

We are also still able to direct students to the UA Student Emergency Fund administered though the main campus Dean of Students Office.
