Please join the Family & Juvenile Law Association and Pride Law for an event centered around transgender children caught in child custody disputes. We intend for this to be a respectful and substantive conversation about the interests at stake, what factors should be important in this type of dispute, and how to best advocate for transgender children. We will be having special guests Asaf Orr who is the Senior Staff Attorney with the National Center for Lesbian Rights and director of the Transgender Youth Project, and Dr. Shawn Giammattei, who specializes in gender identity therapy and is an active member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, and our very own Professor Jordan Woods who researches extensively in law & sexuality and youth in family law and was director of the LGBTQ Law & Policy Program at the University of Arkansas.
