Legal Paraprofessional Scholarships
The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law is a proud recipient of a Marshall Foundation grant to fund Legal Paraprofessional education and licensing. In partnership with the Marshall Foundation, two scholarship opportunities have been created.
The Marshall Foundation Legal Paraprofessional Scholarship
In partnership with the Marshall Foundation, this scholarship will help support students who wish to obtain the necessary education to become an LP. If selected, students will receive a one-time award of up to $500.00 deposited directly into their Bursar’s Account and applied to the costs of attendance associated with the University of Arizona BA in Law or Master of Legal Studies programs.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Students must be admitted and enrolled in either in the BA in Law program or the Master of Legal Studies program and completing the LP coursework.
- Students must have a demonstrated interest and commitment to becoming a licensed Legal Paraprofessional. This can be shown either by the classes completed thus far or work experience prior to attendance.
- Students can only be awarded this scholarship one time.
The deadline to recieve a 2024 Fall Semester Scholarshp ended August 2nd.
The 2025 Spring applications will be accepted beginning October 14th. The deadline to apply will be 5pm on December 16th. An incomplete or late application package will not be considered. Please note that in addition to the short application you will be required to upload a letter of interest, your resume, and, if you are a current UArizona student, your unofficial transcript.
Marshall Foundation LP Graduation Award
This award will help support LPs pursue licensure by providing funds to cover the costs associated with testing (specifically one core exam and one endorsement area exam) and the state licensure application fees according to the fees outlined in ACJA 7-210.
Once selected, an award of up to $550.00 will be deposited in the student's Bursar's account** at the conclusion of the final semester upon verification of successful program completion. The funds are meant to be used for payment of the licensing fees outlined above.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Students must be enrolled in the final semester of the University of Arizona’s BA in Law program or the Master of Legal Studies (MLS) program. Graduation status will be confirmed before awards are made.
- Students must have a demonstrated interest and commitment to becoming a licensed Legal Paraprofessional.
- Appliation materials include the online application, a letter of interest, and your resume, and your unofficial transcript.
- Application materials are accepted on a rolling basis. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Students can only receive the award one time.
**If you have a balance on your Bursar's account the funds will be applied towards the balance. Any remaining funds will then be refunded to you.
