The Future of American Criminal Justice: Philadelphia DA and Criminal Justice Reform Leader to Deliver 2025 Soll Lecture on Oct. 22

Larry Krasner, District Attorney for Philadelphia and one of many elected prosecutors associated with the criminal justice reform movement, will deliver the Darrow K. Soll Memorial Criminal Law and Justice Lecture at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.    

Krasner will discuss lessons learned from his 30-year career in defense and civil rights work and more than seven years spent as the chief prosecutor in one of the poorest large cities in the United States. 

When: Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, 12-1:15 p.m. 

Where: Room 168, University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd. This lecture will also be livestreamed via Zoom and recorded for future viewing.

About Larry Krasner 

Lawrence S. Krasner was reelected for a second term as the City of Philadelphia’s 26th District Attorney in November of 2021. He was born in 1961 in St. Louis, the son of a World War II veteran and author father and evangelist mother. Mr. Krasner has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to social justice by defending protesters pro bono who were involved in various progressive movements. And as DA, he has championed bail reform, diversified the office, and advocated for the end of the death penalty. Krasner has degrees from the University of Chicago and Stanford Law School, and resides in Philadelphia with his wife.
