CJ Pommier
Dr. CJ Pommier is a double Wildcat - she received two terminal degrees from the University of Arizona - her J.D. magna cum laude and a Ph.D. in chemistry. CJ also has a B.S. in chemistry summa cum laude with Departmental Academic Honors from Pittsburg State University’s Honors College, where she was awarded PSU's first Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, America's most prestigious undergraduate scholarship in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering. CJ has almost 20 years of professional leadership and management experience in Fortune 100 and multinational biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies as a leading scientist, people manager, and certified project manager. Dr. Pommier's professional accomplishments include developing and implementing machine learning algorithms in regulated settings, teaching biologists how to program and integrate software onto biomedical devices, implementing new technologies in pharma and biotech, and cross-functional team leadership of problem analysis with executive-level communication to resolve the most complex technical challenges.
CJ is active in several professional and community organizations. She co-founded a group for technology-focused lawyers in Tucson and is a former board member of the Bioscience Industry Organization of Southern Arizona. She is also a member of the Morris K. Udall Inn of Court, the Pima County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Outside of work, CJ delights in exploring Tucson’s diverse dining establishments. In addition to her position as the Executive Director of the TechLaw Program, Dr. Pommier is a patent attorney at Hayes Soloway, PC. Dr. Pommier presents on artificial intelligence topics on state, national, and international stages.
