This Valentine’s Day, Show Your Love for the Next Generation of Leaders and Lawyers
University of Arizona Giving Day begins at noon February 13 through noon February 14
This Valentine’s Day, let your love take action. University of Arizona Law is asking the LawCat community to show love by contributing during Giving Day, a 24-hour campus-wide fundraising effort in support of students and the university.
While Giving Day will only last for 24 hours, the impact of your contribution will be felt for years to come. Your generosity ensures that Arizona Law is able to train the next generation of leaders and lawyers. A legal education is a life-changing experience, and with your support, we can give our students the resources they need to transform their passions and skills into fulfilling careers.
Starting at noon (MST) on February 13 through noon (MST) on February 14, Arizona Law is asking for gifts to support:
Toni M. Massaro Public Interest Student Fellowship Endowment
Provides forever funds in honor of College of Law Dean Emerita Toni Massaro to support students with fellowships who accept unpaid summer positions with public interest organizations.
“Because the Justice Advocate Coalition (JAC) is student-run, Professor Massaro has served as the anchor over years of growth and leadership changes. Her consistent presence and advice have allowed JAC to build in ways that likely would not have been possible otherwise. I can say with certainty that JAC would not exist in the same form without her tireless support,” said Mia Hammersley (‘18). “She is a deeply caring person who brings so much energy, inspiration, and humor to those lucky enough to know her, learn from her, and work with her.”
College of Law Student Scholarship Fund
Scholarship support makes a real difference in the careers and economic well-being of deserving students.
"During my admissions process, I was very worried about financing my legal education. The James E. Rogers College of Law offered me a generous scholarship which has had a significant impact on my legal education. I am grateful for my scholarship because it alleviated my financial stress and allowed me to focus on my studies," said Maya Davidson, second-year law student and recipient of the Dean's Achievement Scholarship and Law Grad Tuition Scholarship.
“I am deeply grateful and honored to have received the James Glenton Boyer Memorial Scholarship. This generous award has given me the freedom to make career choices driven by passion and purpose, rather than the weight of post-graduation student loan payments. Attending law school at an exceptionally reasonable cost is a gift I will always cherish, and I am committed to making the most of this incredible opportunity at the James E. Rogers College of Law,” said Arizona Law second-year law student Audrey Conant.
“The scholarships I have received make my legal education possible to the fullest extent. I am able to dedicate more time to my academics, community involvement, and professional development instead of worrying about finding a second job,” said third-year law student Jocelyn Garcia of her scholarships.
Third-year law student Jordan Devorak a Dean’s Scholar and David B. Babbit Scholar said, “I am so thankful for my scholarship and how it allows me to focus on my studies. Arizona Law's generous scholarship opportunities allow students like myself to strive for their highest potential without incurring excessive debt. Without my scholarship, I likely would not have been able to attend law school until later in life.”
