Brian Clauss

Brian Clauss is a Chicago-based neutral Arbitrator and Mediator resolving Labor, Employment, and Commercial disputes. In more than two decades as a neutral, he has resolved thousands of disputes in arbitration, mediation, and mediation-arbitration. He serves on many rosters and permanent panels throughout the country. He is admitted to the National Academy of Arbitrators and has served on numerous committees with the organization.
Brian is a popular speaker with hundreds of presentations in the United States, Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. He is also a frequent author with more than twenty-five books, articles, chapters, and practice guides.
Brian co-founded and served as Executive Director of the UIC-Chicago John Marshall Law School Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic – a nationally recognized clinical program providing free legal assistance to veterans. In 2019, he served as interim director of the Veterans Clinic at the University of Arizona Rogers School of Law. He co-developed the Dispute Resolution concentration for the Masters in Legal Studies program at the University of Arizona. He currently teaches Arbitration and Dispute Resolution courses in the program.
Prior to law school, Brian worked as an industrial mechanic installing and maintaining production machinery. A confirmed gearhead, he can often be found in the garage immersed in Eisenhower-era technology. He also writes the occasional article for an automobile magazine.
Clauss ADR is administered by the other attorney in the Clauss house - Andrea Stulgies-Clauss. Andrea was a securities attorney in Chicago prior to joining the family firm. The Clauss home is bilingual English – German.
