NSR Committee next steps, more on face coverings, and weekly UA briefings
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the New Safe Return Committee, many thanks for your participation in this week’s Town Halls. We found them exceedingly helpful.
Your suggestions, concerns and ideas have resulted in a very long agenda for Monday’s NSR Committee meeting! We have some complex issues to work through, and having your input informs our thinking and recommendations.
If you have any follow-up questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to contact any member of the NSR Committee or drop a note in our virtual Suggestion Box.
Next Steps:
Next week we’ll be hosting a Town Hall for Professors of Practice, and we are organizing future Town Halls for clinicians and current/incoming students. At the same time we expect to receive further guidance from the University. Dean Miller will submit the College of Law’s draft plan to the Provost at the end of next week.
Face Coverings:
A question arose yesterday regarding whether face coverings were required on campus at this time. Consistent with the Provost’s email of June 5, CDC Recommendations, and the increase in COVID-19 cases in Arizona, the College of Law requires the wearing of face coverings in our buildings now. (You can remove your mask if you are in a single-person office.)
We strongly encourage wearing face coverings in outdoor spaces surrounding the College as well.
We will be posting signage reminding everyone to wear face coverings in our buildings. Please help set the example for our students.
UA Briefings:
Finally, just a reminder that University administration is hosting weekly briefings on the Campus Re-entry Plan. This week, President Robbins and campus leaders had a wide-ranging discussion on incident command, re-entry, fall sports, the #shutdownSTEM movement, research, experiential learning, COVID-19 in Arizona, and more.
