TechLaw @ Arizona Law Event to Explore How Technology is Shaping Law, Legal Practice

Law and technology and the many ways in which they intersect will be examined at TechLaw @ Arizona Law, a free conference hosted by the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. Experts will explore issues including privacy, cybersecurity, innovation for justice, quantlaw and more.

Who may attend: The event is open to the public and will be of particular interest to lawyers, engineers, scholars and public policy leaders working at the intersection of law and technology.

The event will feature experts from: Google, IBM Watson, NextLaw Labs, ABA Center for Innovation, Metajure, Pew Charitable Trusts, the ACLU and more.

Daniel B. Rodriguez, the Harold Washington Professor and former dean at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, will deliver the keynote.

“Law schools tend to treat technology in one of two ways: as a force that might change the laws on the books, or as a force that might change the practice of the law,” said Andrew Keane Woods, conference organizer and associate professor at University of Arizona Law. “We want to integrate these two inquiries under one heading as we continue researching the future of the law and legal education.”
