Ami Hutchinson

Part-time Professor of Law

Ami Hutchinson is a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where she teaches immigration law, crimmigration, and refugee law and policy. Her research interests include domestic application of international human rights law; border rights, detention, and due process; and comparative approaches to asylum and refugee rights.

In addition to teaching, Ami is a full-time immigration and human rights attorney in Tucson, Arizona, where she specializes in complex removal defense, district court litigation, and appellate advocacy. Ami is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School (2017) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and African Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison (2011).
