Kirsten Tobin

Kirsten Tobin is a Student Success Specialist with the Academic and Bar Exam Success team at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. Kirsten works directly with students throughout their legal education, helping them develop the academic skills, analytical frameworks, learning strategies, and confidence needed to navigate law school and prepare for the bar exam.

As an advocate for student growth, Kirsten encourages students to remember that success in law school is not just about mastering legal analysis, it is also about developing the habits, learning strategies, and confidence that will sustain them throughout their legal careers.

Prior to joining the College of Law, Kirsten spent more than a decade working at the intersection of law and education. Her legal experience includes clerking in Pima County Juvenile Court for the Honorable Richard E. Gordon, as well as practicing as an attorney representing children in dependency proceedings and adults in involuntary commitment matters. In education, she served as a Teach For America corps member, led a districtwide English language development program, and served as a K–5 dean of students. 

Kirsten earned her J.D. from Arizona Law, where she served as a 2L writer for the Arizona Journal of Environmental Law & Policy, was selected as a Bergstrom Child Welfare Law Fellow, and received the Jim Himelic Award for Public Service. As a student, she represented youth in the Child and Family Law Clinic, served as a Teaching Fellow for Race, Sex, and Power in the Supreme Court, taught in the Juvenile Detention Teaching Program, and volunteered with the Volunteer Lawyers Program.
