Regional Mock Trial Competition

January 25-27, 2019

The College of Law is hosting the regional competition for the 44th Annual National Trial Competition sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Texas Young Lawyers Association. Twelve law schools from Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Northern California will be competing.

6:00 – 9:00 – Reception/Awards announced

9:00-Noon – Fourth Trial (Semifinals)

1:30 – 4:30 – Fifth Trial (Finals)

  • A list of attendees must be provided to security personnel; all attendees must sign in.
  • Event sponsors are responsible for ensuring that participants remain in the approved event area/s. Access is limited to the 1st floor and the assigned courtroom floor/s. Areas not specifically designated for event use are strictly off-limits. Please note: the courthouse and courtrooms are under 24-hour video surveillance.
  • Do not move furniture in the courtrooms, only chairs may be moved. It is the responsibility of the user group to return the area/s to the same condition as they were upon arrival. Any temporary signage/tape used for or during the event must be removed.
  • Audio enhancement systems in the courtroom will be in use; audio components should not be tampered with.
  • Broken or nonfunctioning items within the courtroom should be reported as soon as possible to Court Facilities at 724-4365, or Court Administration at 724-3768.
  • Judicial robes will be provided for your use. Please insure they are treated with care and returned at the end of your event.
  • Food and drink are not allowed in courtrooms (bottled water only).
  • The courtroom and areas used should be left clean with trash placed in proper receptacles; extra trash bags and cleaning supplies will be provided.
  • The court is not responsible for personal items or business equipment brought into or left in the courtroom/courthouse.
