This spring semester, Arizona Law events are packed with opportunities for learning, networking, and celebration. Take a look at a snapshot of upcoming events — which include signature lecture series welcoming legal experts from around the country to a national conference on constitutional law — and be sure to visit the events calendar and news page for updates and announcements on forthcoming events.    

Legal Paraprofessional Summit 

Event: Legal Paraprofessional Summit  
When: Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM MST  
Where: The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd. 

The third-annual Legal Paraprofessional (LP) Summit will take place on Friday, February 7 at Arizona Law. The LP Summit brings together licensed and prospective legal paraprofessionals, lawyers and judges, and members of the legal community to facilitate robust discussion promoting innovation and growth for LP education and professional development and foster community education.   

J. Byron McCormick Lecture on Law and Public Affairs 

Event: 2025 McCormick Lecture Presented by Jamal Greene 
When: Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, 5:30 PM MST  
Where: The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd., Room 164  

Arizona Law and the J. Byron McCormick Society will welcome law expert, professor and author Jamal Greene as this year’s McCormick Lecture keynote speaker. Among other notable achievements, Columbia Law Professor Green is the author of “How Rights Went Wrong: Why Our Obsession with Rights is Tearing America Apart.” 

Isaac Marks Memorial Lecture 

Event: 2025 Marks Lecture with Neal Katyal 
When: Monday, April 14, 2025  
Where: The University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd. 

Former Acting Solicitor General of the United States, lawyer, professor and New York Times best selling author Neal Katyal will deliver the 2025 Isaac Marks Memorial Lecture on April 14. He runs one of the largest Supreme Court practices in the world at an international law firm, where he occupies the role formerly held by Chief Justice John Roberts. Katyal served as Acting Solicitor General during the Obama administration and was responsible for representing the federal government in all appellate matters before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Courts of Appeals throughout the nation. He also served in the Deputy Attorney General’s Office at the Justice Department as National Security Advisor. 

Established in 1979, the Marks Memorial Lectures enrich the curriculum and the community by featuring speakers from law, jurisprudence, and public policy.  

National Conference of Constitutional Law Scholars

Hosted by the University of Arizona College of Law’s William H. Rehnquist Center, the National Conference of Constitutional Law Scholars creates a vibrant and useful forum for constitutional scholars to gather and exchange ideas. This conference is free to attend for University of Arizona Law students, faculty and staff.
